A peaceful riverside view from a picnic area just west of Roxbury, Connecticut. The tiny town of Roxbury is located a few miles east of New Milford in the western part of the state. Although it is not far from Waterbury and the busy Route 84, the Roxbury area is quiet and unspoiled, with a number of scenic country roads. The area around Riverton is mostly rugged and remote, with high hills surrounding the quaint, historic town. Riverton is located northwest of Hartford, near the Massachusetts border and the southern Berkshires.
