Asheville is a delightful city set high in the mountains of the western part of North Carolina. It is a small city that nevertheless has a lot to see and do, and is known in part as being home to the Biltmore, a national historic landmark. Aside from funky and quirky dining and shopping, Asheville is also a jumping off point for hiking and biking in the Blue Ridge Mountains as well as a number of other outdoor activities.
